Vaping is a gateway to smoking tobacco

ACCORDING to a recent panel discussion held on vaping, ecigarettes and vaping are relatively harmless and are the path to quitting smoking. The panellists also feared that if the Control of Tobacco Products and Smoking Bill 2022 – known as the generational end game, or GEG, Bill – becomes law there will be an increase in the illicit trade in cigarettes. Their fear is misplaced. What is needed is effective law enforcement.

The panellists’ claim that ecigarettes are harmless is not based on any credible scientific evidence. Electronic cigarettes and vaping have serious health effects as evidenced by a number of scientific reports.
