WATCHING the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on television, one could not help but be impressed by the pomp and ceremony of the occasion. It was like a celebration rather than a funerary of death.

The ceremonial costumes and uniforms of the members of the British royal family and their households, the Queen’s guards, pall bearers and soldiers brightened the occasion with a riot of colours.
