The best of both worlds

I AM a medical doctor, and I was approached by a family member asking for advice. He had had a minor stroke and wanted to know if traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) could help him. I was sceptical initially, but I did not know enough about TCM to tell him no.

As a healthcare provider, my job is to provide the best available options to my patients, helping them to understand outcomes and risks. So I decided to find out more by doing my own research – and that is when I learned about integrative medicine.
