THE intake of students in public matriculation colleges has once again become a matter of contention.
The matriculation programme allows students to pursue a degree in a public university upon successfully completing the course. The intake of students is based on a quota of 90% bumiputra and 10% non-bumiputra, which is unfair and unjustifiable towards the latter. The worst part is average SPM scorers were accepted while the high achievers were turned down, especially non-Malays.
