Disappointed with Censorship Board’s stand on Lightyear

I REFER to the Film Censorship Board of Malaysia’s (LPF) stand on the screening of the Pixar movie Lightyear, where it said it did not ban the film from being screened in in this country but had approved it with minor cuts and “muting” of dialogue with lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) elements.

In my view, the LPF must provide clear and distinctive guidelines on how it decides whether a movie should be released for screening or banned. My acquaintances abroad who have watched Lightyear have told me the amount of LGBT exposure in the movie is minimal and there are no obvious intents or remarks about the subject throughout.
