As the Past National President of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) and as a Retired Senator who had served in the Barisan Nasional Supreme Council together with the Late Tan Sri Dato’ S.Subramaniam, I had the opportunity to have gained his ideas and knowledge in the Consensus political development of Barisan Nasional.

I would further like to show my gratitude to him for helping me and the party in securing an eminent Constitutional Lawyer, Mr. Dominic Puthucheary during the serious political crises which PPP underwent then under my leadership. It is even more gratuitous that the said Mr. Dominic Puthucheary did not even accept any remuneration from me for the services he had rendered. All this is due to the help and instruction given by the Late Tan Sri Dato’ S.Subramaniam. This further shows that the Late Tan Sri Dato’ S.Subramaniam’s commitment to serve the Indian community in this country is therefore unquestionable which he went on further to support me as the other Indian leader who was leading the PPP. Therefore, the passing of the Late Tan Sri Dato’ S.Subramaniam is a great loss not only to the Indian community but also to Barisan Nasional as a whole.

I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family.

S.I Rajah

Past National President of PPP Malaysia and a Retired Senator
