Of dress codes and moral values

I REFER to the report “Dress code upholds values” (The Star, May 25; online at https://bit.ly/3sXLD3G). The director-general of the Public Service Department (PSD) Datuk Seri Mohd Shafiq Abdullah was quoted as saying the dress code for customers at government offices is in line with upholding the fifth principle of the Rukun Negara, which is Courtesy and Morality.

He said the guidelines also aimed to preserve the collective harmony and well-being of Malaysia’s multicultural society.
