It takes all of us to mitigate floods

EARLY March saw disastrous floods in Kuala Lumpur and other parts of Peninsular Malaysia, causing havoc to transportation and damage to property as well as landslides. It was the worst flood in KL since the underground parking at the Selangor Club padang was submerged a number of years ago.

The question people are asking is “Why?”. What caused the floods? Was the Klang Valley’s SMART Tunnel not adequate? Malaysians whose houses were inundated with muddy water, who lost household goods and cars and had to spend days cleaning up want to know what is being done to ensure this does not occur again.
