I REFER to the article "Lost in transition" (Sunday Star, March 27; online at https://bit.ly/36D50ab). The writer appears to be dismissing the proposal by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob on uplifting the Malay language (Bahasa Melayu) in the international arena by describing it as a political ploy, a sign of insecurity and inability to prioritise issues.

More alarming is the fact that the writer relied on a few anonymous diplomats as sources to justify the arguments.
