Certified copies of documents not acceptable?

RECENTLY, my brother died in Johor Baru of a heart attack, and we rushed down from Kuala Lumpur to do the necessary (police report, death certificate, etc) as he died in his sleep at home and alone. As he had written a will, all relevant documents, including the original death certificate, were given to the lawyers in JB to process his estate according to his wishes in the will.

On returning to KL and going through his personal effects, I discovered that he was an EPF (Employees’ Provident Fund) contributor and he had appointed me as the nominee.
