Insurance firms defining docs’ job scope

I RECENTLY received a letter from an insurance company pertaining to one of my patients. She is 13 years of age now and I have been her paediatrician since she was 10.

The insurance company basically instructed me to refer her to a general practitioner (GP), saying that a paediatrician can only treat a child up to 12 years old.
