Aim for regional success first in football

I REFER to the report “Identify cause of failure in Suzuki Cup and take action, says Yusoff” (StarSport, Dec 30; online at bit.ly/star_suzuki).

I am quite sure that many football fans would welcome the move by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to prepare a transparent report on the performance of team Harimau Malaya in the recent Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup campaign. The Malaysian team’s failure to advance beyond the group stage was indeed disappointing especially when FAM had envisaged that it would go all the way to the final.
