Too many badminton tournaments back to back?

THE recently concluded Sudirman Cup followed by the Thomas and Uber Cup finals and the Denmark, French and German Hylo Opens have indeed taken a toll on the players competing in these important badminton tournaments.

Personally, I think these tournaments, played back to back, have lost their shine as competing players cannot perform at their best. The latest casualty of this punishing schedule is our very own hopeful, Lee Zii Jia, who had to retire in the third game against Loh Kean Yew of Singapore, who was eventually crowned champion of the German Hylo Open.
