MALAYSIANS, especially sports fans, are justifiably elated by the wonderful performance of the country’s badminton team in reaching the semi-finals of the Sudirman Cup in Vantaa, Finland.

Malaysia’s victory over Indonesia in the quarter-finals was truly remarkable as few pundits had predicted that our players would be able beat the mighty Indonesians. After all, the Indonesian team was a star-studded outfit, with players who have won various top-notch tournaments over the years, including the Olympics.
