THE on-and-off efforts to degazette the already dwindling forest reserves in Selangor is of grave concern to both humans and animals.
On our part, we have benefited tremendously from the forests. However, we often under-appreciate or underestimate the benefits provided by the forest ecosystem services and tend to overlook the importance of preserving them in favour of commercial and economic activities. We really need to consider what we are doing when we slowly surrender bits and pieces of our forests to commercial purposes.
