MALAYSIA has been fighting the Covid-19 pandemic for a year and half yet the situation is deteriorating. It is time to shift gears and adopt new strategies or be more realistic and stringent with the current ones if we wish to do better. Life will not be normal again but at least we will be prepared and assured that we are fighting the pandemic as a united front.
Today, almost a third of the country is on the verge of despair, and many have difficult choices to make on how to feed their families. The country's social safety net is not robust enough to help. The present strategies may have worked before but no longer.
