Naomi Osaka the best judge of her state of mind

FINED for not attending a post-game media meeting and threatened with further fines and possible expulsion, Naomi Osaka executed a coup de grace by withdrawing from the French Open (May 24–June 13) to retain her sanity.

She had made it clear that she would not attend any media event, but neither the Grand Slam Board nor the French Tennis Federation paid heed. Giles Moretton of the French Tennis Federation called it a “phenomenal error”.
