Other MPs should emulate Cabinet’s move to have salary cuts

More aid keeps pouring in for people and businesses, along with the two-week total lockdown in force. How fortunate we are that we continue to be aided by the present Perikatan Nasional-led government during these difficult, critical times although the government itself has less money to spend these days.

Call it Covid-19 bailouts, whatever. Indeed, this government has provided the most generous deal for the people since the outbreak of the pandemic early last year. The virus has caused literal shutdowns in our lives and our economy, prompting the government to embark on massive rescue spending to soften the blow from what is expected to be the worst economic contraction thus far.
