MCA condemns Benjamin Netanyahu for humanitarian crisis in Gaza

History will remember the atrocities in Gaza, a humanitarian crisis perpetrated by the administration of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who had reacted disproportionately against the Palestinian people’s will to resist the unlawful annexation of their homeland.

This being the case, MCA is deeply saddened by the ongoing conflict in Gaza. We categorically condemn Benjamin Netanyahu for the aggression and excessive use of force against a civilian population, and reaffirm our solidarity with the people of Palestine.

For years, in order to strengthen political control over demographics and Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), Israel has maintained an indoctrinated system of methodical aggression, discrimination, dispossession and occupation against Palestinians.

At the present, Israel has broken at least 28 resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and international laws pertaining to apartheid, ethnic cleansing and collective punishments.

The latest bout of Israeli violence has killed 197, including 58 children and 34 women. Despite mounting international calls for ceasefire, Benjamin Netanyahu declared that the attacks will be continuing in “full force”.

It heartens me to observe that Malaysians understood the ongoing war crimes in Gaza transcends biases, and they are not afraid to speak up forcefully. Their zeal is unmistakable. Malaysians want to see peace be restored, and the hostilities removed from Palestinian lands.

In this dire time of injustice, we urge the United Nations Security Council to sit on their hands no longer, and instead, take every measure available to end the bombardments in Gaza.

It is imperative for a concerted effort by the international community to urgently ramp up pressure to intervene in the systematic deprivation of legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and their violent sufferings.
