Think creatively to help the drive towards a high-literacy nation

YESTERDAY was World Book Day. Before the Covid-19 pandemic, the day was celebrated annually in Malaysia and the rest of the world with many activities. Also known as World Book and Copyright Day under Unesco (United Nations Education, Scientific and Cultural Organi-sation), the day aims to promote reading, publishing and copyright protection.

This year, the theme is to share a story. And in line with the theme, I have a story to share about the prevailing state of Malaysia’s reading culture and efforts to promote it.
