I WAS delighted to read the two articles “Playing guardian angels for a year” (The Star, April 5) and “Not just neighbour but part of the family” (April 6). I have a similar story to tell.

Upon passing the Malaysian Certificate of Education exam in 1977, I was sent to St John’s Institution, Kuala Lumpur to continue my education in Form 6. My hometown then was Batu Arang.
