Bad road condition shows dereliction of duty

IT was indeed a blessing in disguise that Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin fell off his bicycle after hitting a pothole, with all due respect to him, of course, because attention is now finally being directed at the issue of potholes that are pitting our roads nationwide.

Besides potholes, we also have to contend with broken roads and uneven surfaces due to shoddy work and droppings from concrete tankers. The Public Works Department (JKR) and local authorities do not need to wait for complaints from the public before taking action. I am sure their staff are also driving or moving around on the same roads as the rest of us.
