THE Development of Human Resources for Rural Areas (DHRRA) Malaysia calls on the Malaysian government to study the impact of gender unequal practices in nationality policies.
DHRRA – which has extensively worked to address statelessness in West Malaysia and share best practices in East Malaysia – has noted through gathered evidence that gender discrimination in nationality laws is a root cause of childhood statelessness in Malaysia.
