THE working class in Malaysia is currently going through tough times due to the Covid-19 pandemic even with the financial aid given out by the government and other bodies. It is especially difficult for those who have had to take pay cuts or lost their jobs and have to take care of their family.
The negative impact of this on one’s mental health cannot be denied. This is why it is important to perform a self-assessment test from time to time to evaluate how we are doing mentally.
There are screening tools for mental health online. One example is a simple test known as DASS-21. It basically evaluates one’s depression, anxiety and stress levels with 21 questions and can be accessed at thecalculator.co or go to bit.ly/mental_tool.
Once you have answered the questions, a score will be provided for each category of depression, anxiety and stress levels.
If the score indicates that you might need help, you can speak to your general practitioner as a first step.
Stay safe and stay healthy in mind and body.
