Malaysia’s economy dipped into its first contraction since the 2009 global financial crisis in the second quarter of this year as the coronavirus pandemic despoiled business activity, prompting Bank Negara Malaysia to precipitously cut its GDP forecast for this year to between -3.5% and -5.5%.
