No need for drugs to have monetary and illegal value

I REFER to the report “Six nabbed and 61kg of ganja seized” (The Star, Sept 29) on the reported seizure of over 60kg of marijuana and the arrest of six persons in Kampong Baru, Kuala Lumpur.

The news report also mentioned the monetary value of the ganja seized. I consider this practice by the police narcotics officers as totally unnecessary and unwarranted.
