I REFER to Hussain Abu Bakar’s letter, “In tribute to the squad of 1972” (Aug 14; online at bit.ly/star_squad). It reminded me of that memorable day on Aug 27,1972, when the Malaysian national football team played West Germany during the Olympic Games (it was a beautiful Sunday).
I can still recall RTM commentator Abdul Aziz Ibrahim (erroneously) screaming “goal” when Datuk Soh Chin Aun hit the side netting.
