Safe way to dispose of masks

WITH reference to Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye’s letter in The Star on May 23 (“Disposal of used masks a matter of concern”; online at bit.ly/star_mask), I would like to suggest an effective, cheap and easily available option to disinfect a used mask before disposal: soap.

Virologists believe soap does an even better job than alcohol to destroy the novel coronavirus and most viruses.
