NOW that Covid-19 has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organisation (WHO), it is time to ramp up our actions to stop the spread of the virus in our country. WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said it is possible to limit transmission of the virus but the challenge for many countries that are now dealing with large clusters or community transmission is not whether they can do the same – it’s whether they will.
Will we act aggressively enough to deal with the outbreak in our country? I would like to highlight important groups that are either at risk of spreading the virus and those who are at risk of getting infected and developing serious illness (ones we need to protect).
