Don’t ignore phone calls and emails from the rakyat

THE Pakatan Harapan government promised to effect change and be more people-friendly. However, letters and emails to government departments – including the prime minister and deputy prime minister’s offices, various ministries, the Inspector-General of Police, chief police officers, state government departments, government-linked corporations, and local authorities – are mostly not given a reply or even acknowledged.

This is a bad practice, and it is hoped that a directive will be issued by the chief secretary to the government for all departments to acknowledge emails and letters. People do not contact the government for trivial issues, it’s mainly for important complaints that need to be addressed. When no one replies, it means that the complaint or feedback is not worthy. Is that so?
