THE Association for Community and Dialogue is concerned by media reports that a group representing families of murder victims has requested for a referendum to be held on whether to abolish the death penalty.
A member of the group has reportedly said that the government should not make Malaysia “a paradise for criminals” and that abolishing the mandatory death penalty for premeditated and heinous killings would encourage rogues from other countries to come to Malaysia to freely commit crimes here.
