Changing terminology for road safety


AFTER launching a road safety campaign in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year celebrations, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Kamarudin Jaffar disclosed that his ministry had proposed to the Road Safety Council that accidents be labelled as crashes.

The change in terminology is aimed at raising awareness among the public of their personal responsibilities while on the road.
