THE recent warning by Bukit Aman’s counter-terorrism chief, Deputy Commissioner Datuk Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay, of the intensified Islamic State (IS) threat in the region must be heeded seriously.
Following the killing of the leader of the movement, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, in a special operation last weekend, world leaders and security experts have warned that the ruthless group which carried out atrocities in five continents against innocent victims remained a security threat not only in the Middle East but beyond.
