Extend contract of pharmacists

AS we approach the end of 2019, the fate and future of government pharmacists under contract still hangs in the balance. The first batch of contract pharmacists who started in December 2016 will have their contracts up for extension in December 2019 and there is still no concrete news from the Health Ministry on what will happen to these pharmacists.

While some have left public service, many pharmacists in their final months of contract are still serving the country. The Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society (MPS) has received many appeals from the officers waiting to hear if their contracts will be extended while waiting for a permanent position.
