I REFER to the letter “More to do than retire at the age of 60” by Dr Tan Eng Bee (The Star, Sept 4).
I agree with the writer that one is still young and vibrant at 60. However, one may not be young and vibrant enough to be fit for purpose. This may especially be so in jobs that require very rapid and continuous updating and reskilling. Fields such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) come to mind.
