Addressing lift maintenance in Malaysia holistically

THE Human Resources Ministry, through the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) and the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, wishes to provide feedback to a letter published in The Star on Aug 9 under the headline “Inspection of lifts should be more regular” (online at bit.ly/star_lifts).

The ministry would like to thank all stakeholders, including the consumers’ association that wrote the letter, for their input, views and suggestions for improving occupational safety and health aspects in the country, specifically with regard to passenger lift safety in the People’s Housing Projects (PPRs).
