UNIVERSITY rankings is a polarising issue. While some support it, others condemn it as counterproductive. But the fact is this rankings information is being watched by people out there. These are prospective students and their parents, hence ignoring the rankings would be equivalent to ignoring potential clients.

How can university-bound students be regarded as clients? Every university needs money to carry out its core mission. Even public universities could do with extra money from student fees.
