Maintain right to free speech, and to disagree

GERAK (Pergerakan Tenaga Akademik Malaysia/Malaysian Academic Movement or MOVE) would like to respond to the letter by Tan Sri Alwi Jantan on the four academics at the centre of the Rome Statute controversy (“Posi­tions untenable: The academics who advised Rulers on Rome Statute”; online at bit.ly/star_rome).

We write to express our concern and disagreement with Tan Sri Alwi in his open letter to Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik.
