EVERY year on May 3, we mark World Press Freedom Day.

Following promises of reforms to archaic laws which have long stifled the press, Malaysia's press freedom index has moved up 22 spots to No 123 among 180 countries ranked by international watchdog Reporters Sans Frontiers.
