A national treasure in need of rehabilitation

EVER on the lookout for new walking trails, on the first day of Chinese New Year my friends and I decided to explore the Bukit Komanwel (Commonwealth Forest) Park and National Stadium. We were utterly disappointed by what we saw.

The grounds in many places were overgrown with weeds. The plants were poorly maintained and were infested with insects/parasites. Benches and pergolas were rotting and several were broken. The plaques engraved with the names of the Commonwealth nations were also poorly maintained and rusty in many places. The toilets were filthy too.
