I CAN only endorse Prof Dr Krishnan Rajam’s timely letter bringing to light once again the appalling loss of life and injury from road traffic accidents, “Toll of road traffic accidents” (The Star, Feb 11).
The problem is that failure to comply with the law in this matter is endemic in this country, and motorcyclists in particular seem to think that they have the right to ignore traffic rules. Many of them also seem to regard pedestrians with the same contempt that they have for dogs. Just three days ago, I was nearly hit by a motorcyclist going the wrong way in a one-way street, and he seemed to think it was my fault for being there!
