Kudos to the rising Asian women

ASIAN tennis has reached greater heights than ever with Japanese Naomi Osaka, 21, winning back-to-back Grand Slam singles championships at the US Open in September 2018 and last Saturday at the Australian Open.

Osaka’s was no mean feat. She defeated in straight sets America’s Serena Williams, arguably one of the greatest tennis players of all time, at last year’s US Open final, and overcame Petra Kvitova, a top-10 double Grand Slam winner, in an enthralling final at this year’s Australian Open.
