REFERRING to the report “No more term exams for pupils” (The Star, Dec 20, 2018), I would like to congratulate the Education Ministry for following through on this initiative. I believe the ministry’s officials had their heart in the right place when this decision was made.
While I have great respect for those with impressive paper qualifications, as one who grew up through the school of hard knocks, I know and appreciate how much the living world around us can be an inspiration and also present excellent challenges compared to the controlled environment of an exam hall.
