Reduced paperwork, more time for teaching

I REFER to the report “A dream come true for teachers” (The Star, Jan 15) on the Education Ministry’s announcement that from this year onwards, teachers will no longer have a lot of paperwork to handle. This is good news indeed for them as well as their students.

Teachers are the frontliners in developing our young to become useful social and economic citizens as we seek to become a high-income nation. The core focus and functions of teachers should always be to equip themselves with the latest teaching methods, knowledge and skills.
