Stray cats carry dangerous parasites that can spread to humans


IT is not well-known that stray cats that have not been dewormed often carry zoonotic parasites (parasites that can be transmitted from animals to humans).

I carried out surveys on faecal samples from stray cats when I was practising as a veterinarian in government service, and I found that many stray cats carried the parasite Toxoplasma gondi, which causes blindness in humans.
