Dedicated to protecting endangered gibbons

I REFER to the recent report on the controversy that developed over the removal of two gibbons from a private rehabilitation facility in Raub, “All heated up over gibbons” (The Star, Nov 26).

I wish to express to Water, Land and Natural Resources Minister Dr Xavier Jayakumar my support for Peka (Pertubuhan Pelindung Khazanah Alam Malaysia) gibbon rehabilitation project manager Mariani Ramli (pic) to continue her conservation work to save the endangered small apes in Malaysia and my concerns about the removal of the two juvenile gibbons (Ara and Goku) from her sanctuary.
