AS a police retiree, I welcome Deputy Home Affairs Minister Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman’s assurance that efforts are being undertaken to improve the welfare of our police personnel, “Azis: Study to improve police welfare under way” (The Star, Oct 9).
There is an urgent need for the government to look into this matter as the police force is in a dire state of affairs in terms of logistics, quarters for staff and buildings.
