Recall housemen who left due to past harassment

I REFER to the reports “Heartless docs, sickening acts” (Sunday Star, July 29) and “Ministry to probe sex abuse claims by housemen against dept head” (The Star, July 30). To show his seriousness in dealing with the issue, Health Minister Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad even provided his e-mail address to those affected to enable them to confide their experiences more effectively.

While the core issue appears to be sexual abuse, the mental, emotional and psychological torture these housemen endured in putting up with their unreasonable senior medical officers must also be considered.
