Consistency in marking scheme detrimental in certain cases

AT this time of the year, many schools (if not all) would have conducted their examinations and their teachers would be marking the answer scripts now.

As it is not possible for the teachers to mark all the scripts in one sitting, especially those who have to mark scripts from several classes, it is not surprising that they use a scheme to ensure some consistency in their marking.
