Hard to shed old habits in Parliament

PARLIAMENTARIANS need to debate matters of national interest with polite language and appropriate gestures to maintain the dignity of the Dewan Rakyat.

This is certainly expected of MPs in the new Malaysia but as can be seen in telecasts of the current sittings in Parliament, it looks like old habits are hard to shed. Some MPs are still using rough language and engaging in personal shouting matches with those from different parties, totally disregarding the decorum expected of them in the House.
